Just an Update.

Morning.

Florida is so flat. If you’re up high enough, I think it would look like a computer chip. All the golf courses and beaches and tiny people with their beach feet and their shirts off with sweaty backs and reddened cheeks and big teethy white smiles even when they’re sunburned.

It smells so much like the sea here, which is one of my favorite smells. I’m especially grateful of the salty sweet taste left in my noes when I drive down one particularly long winding road with the ocean stretched out endlessly on either side. The waters really are endless. When I was younger, and my parents used to take my sisters and I to the beach with slippery sunblock covering our noses and shoulders,  I  sat and stared and searched for the end of that water. But after a bit, you realize you won’t find it. As you always find yourself standing back at the beginning, where the white foam meets the place your bare toes hug the sand. And the swollen sea spilling like tears over your legs.

I’ll write more tomorrow.
